A non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment
Mesotherapy is a non-invasive non-surgical technique that uses micro injections of pharmaceutical preparations and vitamins under the dermal layer.
How does Mesotherapy work?
Our Mesotherapy treatment works by delivering hyaluronic acid into the skin, exactly where it needs to be. It is a cosmetic procedure that can only be administered by trained professionals and while positive effects are visible after the very first treatment, it is often recommended that you will get the best results from a series of sessions. It involves the use of a meso gun made up of fine needles used to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin. These “micro-injuries” stimulate the body’s natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover, and increased collagen and elastin production within the dermis.
Benefits of mesotherapy are:
- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- Tightens, regenerates and rejuvenates skin
- Reduces acne scarring
- Increases collagen and elastin production
- Reduces pore size
- Smooths skin texture
- Improves radiance and hydration
Mesotherapy for hair
Mesotherapy stimulates increased blood circulation to the scalp, reduces inflammation and provides scalp follicles with nourishing proteins, vitamins and minerals that enhance hair growth.
FAQs - The answers you need
- Book in advance, as treatment shouldn’t be within 4 weeks of planned dental treatment or intensive skin treatments or 4 days before an international flight. Also, allow 4 weeks before an important occasion for optimum healing.
- Avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatories and oil supplements 5 days before your treatment to minimise your chance of bruising.
- Inform your practitioner if predisposed to cold sores, as preventative medication can be prescribed. Your practitioner may recommend treatments to condition the skin before your filler treatment, to optimise results.
The treated area will initially look red, swollen, feel tender or lumpy and bruising may appear after 12-24 hours. This generally takes 2-4 weeks to resolve. Due to factors like underlying facial asymmetry or scar tissue, results may be slightly uneven despite our very best efforts.
We recommend booking a complimentary follow-up consultation at 4 weeks after treatment to allow us to assess how you are going. This allows us to ensure optimal outcomes and address any questions you might have.
Those previously allergic to hyaluronan; with permanent fillers or facial implants; pregnant or breast-feeding; unwell with a cold, sinusitis or facial infection; prior keloid scarring; caution is needed for those with autoimmune disorders.
There is a very small risk of allergy, infection or the filler entering an artery. Any of these reactions must be promptly treated with a dissolving enzyme. Antibiotics and antihistamines may also be required. There have been extremely rare reports of blindness, with the treatment of the nose and between the eyes carrying a higher risk.
- Use a soothing cleanser or face wash with tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 48 hours after your needling treatment and dry gently.
- Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the area that has been needled.
- If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
Please do not:
- Exercise intensely, drink alcohol or wear makeup for the remainder of the day.
- Swim, use a sauna or have facials for a week.
