Have you had to put up with Spider veins for years hating getting your legs out in public every time? Our team at Skin on Forty-Five can do amazing things with the Cutera Laser and the results speak for themselves. Our Medical Grade Cutera Nd:YAG laser is the gold standard technology for non-invasive treatment of spider veins.

What are Spider Veins?

Spider veins are the unsightly small networks of tiny veins on the surface of the legs usually less than a millimetre across but can be very disfiguring and cosmetically undesirable. The definitive cause of these veins is unknown but there is a strong family history usually associated similar to varicose veins.

These are more prevalent in women and can affect any part of the leg. These do not require treatment for medical reasons but are unsightly and easily treated with Laser sclerotherapy with our medical-grade Cutera Yag Laser.

What does Cutera Yag Laser Vein treatment involve?

After placing gel onto the skin the laser is focused onto the target Spider veins. The laser heats and destroys the spider vein and it disappears over a period of two to six weeks without damaging surrounding tissue.

How does the laser work?

The Nd: YAG laser penetrates the skin into the superficial blood vessel. The heat generated from the laser coagulates the blood inside the spider vein, causing it to collapse and seal. Over the next few weeks, the spider vein will disappear and all the blood will be removed by the body’s scavenging cells. Our medical-grade Cutera laser treatments allow the delivery of a precise dosage of energy to each blood vessel without injuring any nearby structures.

Can all small veins be treated with laser therapy?

No. Spider veins can be a sign of underlying vascular conditions such as Varicose Veins. Without treating the underlying condition they will continue to recur. At Skin on Forty-Five, we have offer Varicose vein management with our Medical team and can arrange consultations to assess your underlying conditions if required.

Is laser therapy painful?

Most clients report mild discomfort rather than pain, similar to a rubber band being lightly snapped against your skin as the laser fires. The Cutera Xeo has a cooling system that prevents the tip of the laser from getting too hot and prevents burns or damage to the area.

How many treatments are needed?

Depending on the size and number of veins, two to six treatments will be needed. The treatments are usually done 4-6 weeks apart. Those with a tendency towards vascular problems will most likely require additional treatments.

How much does laser Spider vein treatment cost?

The cost is dependent upon the size of the area being treated and the number of treatment cycles required. Costs generally start as low as $150. We offer Laybuy so you can enjoy the results now and pay later.

Will my spider veins return?

Laser treatment will permanently remove the spider veins you currently have providing a more youthful, healthy look and an even colour pattern to the skin. If underlying conditions predisposing you to spider veins in the first place are not addressed you will likely develop new spider veins in the future. This is usually a very slow process giving you a great result that last months to years. Repeating treatment course can be performed without risk whenever new spider veins develop.

Are there any possible side effects?

Skin discomfort, stinging or a burning feeling during the treatment is to be expected. After the treatment, expect skin redness, darkened pigmentation and swelling. This can last up to 3 days. After this, the surface pigmented skin layers may flake away as new tissue regenerates over 14 days. Other complications are rare but our team of experienced professionals will be able to answer any questions when you come in for your treatment.
